Dave is currently the president/CEO of Sundance Power Systems, Inc., a regional renewable energy company serving the Southeast with offices in Weaverville just outside of Asheville, NC. Dave & his wife Sierra founded Sundance in 1995 as an extension of many years of work in the environmental community. With a degree in Environmental Biology, he began exploring avenues for creating awareness of the most pressing environmental issues. From 1987 – 1995 Dave worked at Greenpeace USA, as National Action Coordinator, working closely with the major campaigns developing hi profile events to create awareness about critical environmental issues and empowering people take an active role in positive social change.
In addition to his role at Sundance, Dave sits on the Energy Innovation Task Force, a partnership of Duke Energy, Buncombe County and the City of Asheville to contend with the growing energy issues of the region. Dave has served on the Advisory Board for Appalachian State University’s Appropriate Technology Department, as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association and takes every opportunity to bring a greater awareness of the benefits of Renewable Energy to schools and the general public through public speaking and demonstration projects.
