Dale is a solo explorer of the remote and extreme, risk and exploration consultant, published author, and radio/TV host. His exploration philosophy is to immerse himself in extreme and often hostile environments, going solo and gaining knowledge of what the wild has to offer. He likes extremes and feels at home where he finds himself, whether paddling remote rivers, or exploring jungle, desert, mountain or arctic environments.Not only does Dale explore geographically; he explores ideas, emotions, and ways of communicating, and life itself. Exploration is a way of learning that spans history and all cultures. Dale is a seeker of knowledge and the resources needed past and present to survive.

As a result of his unique background and accomplishments Dale has been invited to serve as speaker and panel member during a number of Risk and Exploration symposiums worldwide. Including symposiums sponsored by NASA, National Science Foundation, and Office of Naval Research. He has lived with and learned from indigenous tribes on six continents. Dale has been featured in magazine and newspaper articles and appeared or consulted with nature documentaries, for the BBC, History, Animal Planet, Outdoor and Discovery Channels. He is also host of the syndicated radio show, Nature’s Edge, and still seeks that next great challenge.

Krystal is a trained conscious healer utilizing the art of acupuncture and herbal medicine to facilitate wellness and vitality. Her mission is to offer women and children a compassionate and loving healing space by supporting them through all their life cycles. She is the owner and founder of Sacred Valley Acupuncture. Krystal provides an intuitive and grounded approach to Classical Chinese Medicine. With each person she creates an individualized treatment plan while offering a safe sanctuary allowing the innate wisdom of the body to emerge. Krystal strives to empower women in restoring their own natural state of radiance and resilience.

Krystal devoted four years to a rigorous academic graduate program at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts that has provided her with a solid set of medical skills along with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine. Krystal has a private practice in Asheville, NC as well as a community clinic for women. She also offers group acupuncture and sound healing for women in recovering at Willow Place. In addition to being a licensed acupuncturist, Krystal is a trained midwife’s assistant, Reiki Master and certified teacher of Kundalini and prenatal yoga. She studied with world renowned midwife Ina May Gaskin at The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee; and with Tej Kaur Khalsa and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa in Southern California. These experiences have given Krystal a diverse and unique array of healing modalities to assist each person on their own authentic journey towards optimal health.

David LaMotte ~ Songwriter, Speaker, Author & Activist

David LaMotte is an award-winning songwriter, speaker, author, and activist. He has produced 11 CDs and performed 2500 concerts on 5 continents.

He suspended his music career in 2008 to accept a Rotary World Peace Fellowship, earning a master’s degree in International Studies, Peace, and Conflict Resolution from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and working in rural India as part of that degree.

David maintains a dense calendar of speaking and musical events worldwide. He also serves as the president of PEG Partners, the non-profit organization he co-founded to support schools and libraries in Guatemala. In addition to that, he serves as the Clerk (chair) of the Nobel Peace Prize Nominating Task Group for the AFSC (Quakers).

His 12th album, The Other Way Around, will be released with a special concert at Diana Wortham Theatre on September 2nd. The album includes musicians from 6 continents and the concert will feature at least 18 guest artists.

Kelleen Griffin ~ Life Coach and Founder of KG Mentoring

Kelleen is a mentor and life coach and the owner of KG Mentoring. She is also the creator of the 4-week mastermind online course entitled, “Vision.” Her work is the result of 17 years of researching, writing, interviewing, and engaging with people all over the world on the topics of work, change, and personal development and mastery. She helps people.. change.

Rather than accept the road created by others, Kelleen chose to go out and find her own path. She chucked a career in finance and set out for the West Coast to study with Indigenous teachers from many traditions. She’s a student of psychology, leadership, philosophy, science, and medicine. Kelleen has an MBA from Columbia University and Master’s of Science from Johns Hopkins in counseling and coaching. Sue Ford ~ Singer-Songwriter & Music Teacher

A North Carolina native, Sue Ford is a singer-songwriter-multi instrumentalist. She has been teaching music to preschoolers through middle schoolers in Asheville since 2003.  Her music education includes Orff Schulwerk, an approach she strives towards in her instructing.  Sue has studied piano, percussion, guitar, banjo and cello.

Sue Ford is currently the music teacher at Rainbow Community School and formerly at Evergreen Community Charter School.  For 12 years she directed Evergreen’s EMBE Marimba Band, a middle school band, which performed many times in the Asheville area and beyond.

Sue Ford is a composer, writing choral music performed by Womansong of Asheville and writing instrumental and vocal music with and for her students. She has performed for 50 years and released an album of originals in 2004.  Sue was recognized by the Mountain Xpress as “Best Music Teacher” for three years.

Sue Ford lives in a beautiful rural setting in Weaverville with her husband of over 35 years, professional puppeteer Hobey Ford. They have three creative and talented grown daughters.

Rod Murphy ~ Documentary Filmmaker

Rod Murphy won 14 awards for his first three documentaries including “Best Documentary,” “Best of Fest” and “Audience Award.” He also directs and produces video content in the non-profit and corporate sectors for companies and organizations like Mission Health, New Belgium Brewing, American Express, Outward Bound, Industries for the Blind, Asheville City Schools, LEAF International and The Biltmore.  His work has been screened Internationally at festivals and on tv.  His 4th feature “El Chivo” is currently on the festival circuit.

Jeff Schmitt  is a Folk Healer, Tabaquero, Ceremonialist, Musician & Scientist; he is a walker-between-worlds. Jeff has also practiced and taught Chinese martial arts for most of his life. He is a 32-year veteran scientist, entrepreneur with over 100 publications and patents to his name.  A dedicated practitioner and student of the folk healing traditions of Peru and North America, Jeff enthusiastically works with clients using sacred healing and counseling methods; one of his greatest joys is bringing people together in sacred community to facilitate personal and planetary healing.

Ellen Kittredge is a Nutrition Counselor, Minister, Quantum Energetic Disciplines Practitioner, and Shamanic Practitioner. Ellen uses healing foods, nutritional recommendations, supplements, lifestyle coaching, energy clearing techniques, spiritual counseling and a variety of other tools in her individualized approach to creating optimal health for her clients. Ellen was recently ordained as a Minster of Walking Prayer through the Center for Sacred Studies two-year Ministerial Training Program. The significant focus of this Training Program on indigenous and earth-based ways of healing has combined well with her extensive studies in indigenous Andean healing modalities.

The Eagle Condor Council is a living demonstration of the power of the Sacred Hoop — people of diverse background and spiritual practice coming together in the spirit of solidarity, collaboration and healing. We support authentic community, sacred healing traditions and earth-centered spirituality. Anchored in the cosmology and teachings of Peru and the Andes we build community and support diverse spiritual traditions through workshops, events, retreats and pilgrimage.  The EC Council operates on the principles of self-organization, we are not hierarchical but rather seek to support collaboration that leads to meaningful programming and service.

Therapist, artist, survival instructor, and author Rob Jacoby draws upon all four areas of his life and experience to offer us The Map to Love: How to Navigate the Art of the Heart, a life-giving perspective on understanding the complexities of the emotional landscape, and most of all how to find love and fulfillment. His twenty year career helping people from all walks of life, from working in maximum security prisons to managing programs in some of the top adolescent psychiatric hospitals in the country counseling those suffering from extreme emotional problems gives this book its lived-in authority. His passion for creation, particularly painting and music, drives the spontaneity and rhythm of its prose and presentation. In between parenting his daughter, Rob currently works in residential therapeutic settings, private practice, and conducts workshops and seminars on Love, The Art of Counseling, Effective Parenting, Relationships, Equine Therapy, and Meditation.

Rob loves what he does, and spends most of his time trying to understand love.  He still has more questions than answers.

Dr. Steven Coward- Naturopathic Doctor and Founder of Asheville Natural Health and Homeopathy

In 2001, Dr. Steven Coward founded Asheville Natural Health and Homeopathy, where he specializes in the treatment of complex and chronic diseases.  After leaving a financial career in the medical insurance industry, Dr. Coward earned a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona.  He is  licensed in the state of Vermont, as North Carolina does not currently license naturopaths.

Dr. Coward’s  passion for homeopathy began during his naturopathic medical training as he saw patients improve with homeopathy who had not responded to any other therapy.  He’s devoted himself to studying and perfecting the practice of homeopathy, and he has studied with some of the most prominent homeopaths in North America. Dr. Coward is past President and Secretary of the North Carolina Association of Naturopathic Physicians, an organization that promotes the passage of a state law requiring licensing of naturopathic physicians.  He is also a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the National Center for Homeopathy.
