Sandi was one of the founders of WNC Woman magazine with Julie Parker and Sandra Grace in 2002. Since 2010 she has been the sole publisher and editor of the magazine each month with the help of many dedicated women writers, copy editors, photographers, and a team of loyal delivery folks all over WNC.
Her life prior to WNC Women, Sandi was owner of downtown stores that included Native Expressions from 1991-19997 and then The Natural Home from 1995 to 2004. She attended graduate school in Chapel Hill where she worked on her Master’s in Political Science. She is married (for 38 years!) to Sam Sutker, has two grown children and three grandkids. She lives in Madison County and in her spare time loves to garden and kayak.
What a great conversation with Sandi who shares the history of WNC Woman and its importance for women in our community.
