Brandon Greenstein ~ Organic Grower’s School

Brandon is the Organic Growers School Consulting Director and Sustainability Coach, providing support services to farmers, homesteaders, gardeners, and those seeking sustainability solutions. His background is in Renewable Systems, Earth Works, Energy, Water, Homesteading, Permaculture, specifically providing consulting, design, and technical services for the creation of low impact, energy conserving, and integrated systems. Brandon works with chainsaws, hand tools, heavy equipment, construction projects, water systems, and most everything having to do with the practicalities of ecological design. Brandon currently lives on a small, hand built, off-grid homestead enjoying gardening, parenting and philosophizing about existence and how to optimize it.

Michele Rosa Gee ~ Birth Doula & Bodywork

Michele Rosa Gee is a birth doula, prenatal/postpartum massage therapist, Holisitic Pelvic Care practitioner, and mother. Her work focuses on helping to support women during the childbearing year and beyond,holding space for a woman to claim her own power through the channel of her body. I am naturally comfortable in the presence of life-changing, transformative experiences and I am blown away, again and again, by the potential that women hold in their pelvic space.

Years of practice specializing in prenatal and postpartum massage have given Michele an immense amount of
experience in supporting women’s bodies during this special time. She has a clear sense of the places in a woman’s body that tend to be especially in need during pregnancy. With my Holistic Pelvic Care practice, she supports and nurtures a woman’s creative capacity through tuning into her pelvic bowl – the center of a woman’s creative fire. This modality has profound and lasting effects on a woman in ways that can be surprising.

Charlie & Linda Bloom ~ “That Which Doesn’t Kill Us: How one couple got stronger at the broken places”

Trained as psychotherapists and relationship counselors, Charlie and Linda Bloom have worked with individuals, couples, groups, and organizations since 1975.They have lectured and taught at many learning institutes throughout the USA and the world.

Charlie and Linda are the authors of three published books, including their best-seller, 101 Things I Wish I Knew When Got Married: Simple Lessons to Make Love Last which sold Over 100,000 copies sold).  In their fourth book, That Which Doesn’t Kill Us: How One Couple Got Stronger at the Broken Places (Sacred Life Publishers, on sale April 9, 2018), the story of the Blooms’ journey through a series of ordeals reveals how they managed to reconstruct a relationship from the ashes of their broken dreams. It is both inspiring and instructive, demonstrating to the reader the power of true commitment in the face of great odds and enormous obstacles.

Todd Lester ~ The Mediation Center

Todd is originally from New York and has lived in Asheville for just over 10 years.  He’s engaged in various – probably too many – community endeavors that promote peace, creativity and growth at the individual and group levels.   He does this as a volunteer mediator with the Mediation Center, producer of a local storytelling open mic, and small business consultant.  He finds value in approaching conflict as he believes it holds the seeds to growth.   He holds a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a BS in Business Administration.

K.P. Whaley ~ AshevilleFM 2018 Spring Fund Drive

K.P. Whaley is the station manager for AshevilleFM, a volunteer-based, grassroots community radio station. has been involved in public and community broadcasting for over a decade an joined us in 2017 after nearly four years as a senior talk producer at Wisconsin Public Radio.  He started his radio career as a volunteer and then News and Public Affairs Director at WORT Community Radio in Madison, Wisconsin in 2005. Between those two gigs he has also worked in community television, community food cooperatives, and as the manager of MAIN-FM for a year.  And once upon a time worked in the private sector in a variety of supervisory, management, and project management roles.

Jacqueline Dobrinska & Daniel Barber ~ Creation Spirituality Communities Gathering

Jacquelyn Dobrinska is an ordained wise woman minister, community wellness coach and the Director of Community Life at Jubilee Community.  She is coordinating the Creation Spirituality Community International Gathering here in Asheville next weekend.

Since began leading the World Beat Band at Jubilee! in 2001, Daniel Barber has been in deep learning mode around the transformative power of creativity.  He has experienced profound grace at Jubilee! and is drawn to the Creation Spirituality theology that undergirds it, feeling it carries ancient wisdom for modern times.

Daniel and Jackie are excited that Creation Spirituality lovers from all over the country (and maybe further) will be coming to Jubilee!, Asheville from April 26th-29th for the Creation Spirituality Communities, a weekend of inspiration, growth, and celebration of our sacred work on our sacred earth.

Dale Allen Hoffman ~ Author, Scholar, Mystic & Energetic Healer

Dale Allen Hoffman is an ancient philosophy scholar, mystic and energetic healer. Allí Marshall ~

Alli Marshall is a poet, fiction writer, and performer. She’s the author of the 2015 novel “How to Talk to Rockstars” and the 2017 chapbook “It All Comes Rushing Back,” as well as a number of zines. She’s a member of the Flatiron Writers and the spoken word troupe Literary Circus, and the arts editor at alternative newsweekly Mountain Xpress. She’s lived in Asheville since 1995, which is either miraculous or insane.

All won the 2018 Ramsey Library Community Author Award, the 2016 Thomas Wolfe Fiction Prize (judged by Ron Rash) for her short story, “Catching Out,” the 2016 Shrewd Writer Award for her flash fiction “Structural Soul,” and was a runner-up in the annual Broad River Review Rash Award in fiction. Alli’s prose and poetry has been published in the Fredericksburg Literary & Art Review, Blurt!, Shuffle, Our State, MetroPop, FifeLines, and the Asheville Poetry Review.

Alli is interested in moving writing beyond the page, seeking the golden in the mundane, finding the intersection of art and social justice, and reconnecting with mythology — both ancient and modern. Her current projects include a collaged novella of modern retellings of myths and folklore, a dance-cello-poetry collaboration, and collecting the names of all of her female ancestors. Many of them were named Mary, Anne and Catherine. One was called Lettis.

David Kwizera and Schree Chavdarov ~ LEAF International Rwanda

LEAF International Culture Keeper David Kwizera was granted Chief of the LEAF Intore Troupe at the young age of 17.  His leadership skills, confidence, and ability to stay positive under intense situations have made him the ultimate teaching artist and culture keeper. For over 10 years, David has been learning, practicing and teaching traditional Rwandan dance and drum. In 2017, he became a Culture Keeper and leader. It has been an extraordinary journey, and now it is time for him to shine beyond his borders.

Schree Chavdarov serves as the Global Engagement Director for LEAF Community Arts in Asheville, NC. As the Global Engagement Director, Schree works to empower communities by supporting cultural exchange, cultural preservation, and the fostering of global citizenship. She spends her time traveling to LEAF International countries to support Culture Keepers who are connecting youth to their traditional art forms.

Enjoy this special one-hour Living Well where David tells his remarkable story that begins with being an orphaned and homeless child of the Rwandan genocide to his involvement with LEAF International that provide resources for housing, English lessons, and various other learning opportunities. Over the past year, David has led the birth of a Cultural Arts Center in Rwanda where he and other members of the troupe serve as Teaching Artists to 200+ young street kids every day. Through his work, David Kwizera embodies his mission while gracefully defining resilience, artistic leadership, and hope for new pathways in life through music and art.
