Sumitra, owner, grew up in the food industry and spent over 20 years as a chef, sommelier, cheese monger, shamanic herbalist , and healer. After many journeys around the world and into the interior, she embarked on the path of chado (way of tea) and it changed her life. She is now a tea monk living in the mountains of Western NC.
Panther Moon Tea Co. was born out of a love of fine tea and a desire to create happiness in the world. Panther Moon is a purveyor of luxury teas from the high mountains of China and Taiwan that are traditionally handcrafted by expert tea masters and free of pesticides. Their mission is to spread peace and friendship far and wide through the propagation of Tea Culture – an ancient social ritual of the Far East that promotes harmony and enjoyment amongst peoples – and embodies the virtues of the noble tea plant: simplicity, purity, harmony and equanimity.
