A native of Detroit, A.D. Weighs relocated to Asheville five years ago. It was supposed to be a temporary move but after his second day here, he fell in love with scenery and all the weird people of Asheville. A self-taught videographer, A.D. was inspired by a Facebook post, and discovered his passion project ~ “Weighing in with A.D. Weighs“, a video series on thoughtful conversation with people from all walks of life, addressing hard-to-talk-about topics such as racism, police misconduct, suicide, rape culture and toxic masculinity. His guests are “everyday people” culled from friends, acquaintances and those he meets on social media.
