Ned Doyle first came to Western North Carolina in 1979 to work at the original Mother Earth News Eco Village Research Center. Ned spent the past four decades as a sustainable energy and environmental activist and advocate. No stranger to radio, Ned produced and hosted “Our Southern Community”, intelligent talk radio that shares the stories of the people and the issues of the environment, energy and economics. Former Steering Committee member of the Western North Carolina Alliance and past Board Member of the NC Sustainable Energy Association, Ned remains active with the Energy Innovation Task Force (EITF) and The Blue Horizons Project– an initiative jointly undertaken by the City of Asheville, Buncombe County and Duke Energy.
