Stephen Nachmanovitch performs and teaches internationally as an improvisational violinist, and at the intersections of music, dance, theater, and multimedia arts. He is the author of Free Play (Penguin, 1990) that has been in circulation for over 30 years. This month, Stephen is releasing his new book, The Art of Is: Improvising as a Way of Life. Yo-Yo Ma, world renounced cellist described The Art of Is as a philosophical meditation on living fully in the present and a co-creation that arises out of listening and mutual attentiveness, out of a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.
Stephen will be doing a reading and book signing on Thursday, May 2nd, and then leading an interactive workshop at the Violet Owl on Saturday, May 4th.
