Jim worked for 28 years as a consultant leading environmental cleanups for corporate clients across the United States. He served as the project manager and senior scientist for the evaluation of sediments along the Tittabawassee River that were impacted with chlorinated dioxins and furans down stream from Dow Chemical Company’s original plant in Midland, MI; He was the senior scientist for the evaluation of impacts from Enbridge’s Line 6B crude oil release into the Kalamazoo River after the 800,000 gallon spill in 2010; and most recently, he served as Project manager and lead scientist for the evaluation of a closed Hooker Chemical plant (now Occidental Chemical Corporation) site in Montague, Michigan.
In 2013, Jim left his job in consulting to focus his time on climate and energy policy. To this goal, he has been affiliated with Citizens’ Climate Lobby since 2014 and in July of 2017 accepted a position on staff leading their outreach to conservatives. The Asheville Chapter of CCL meets regularly on the 3rd Monday of each month.
Enjoy this one-hour Living Well where Jim shared how the carbon fee/dividend can have an impactful reduction in carbon emissions and the work CCL is doing to make it a reality!
