Sarah Simpson is a psychotherapist in private practice in Asheville, with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. In 2016, she inherited a box of her late grandmother’s diaries and has since been fascinated by personal writing of all kinds and its virtually endless potential for healing and interpersonal connection. In December of 2017, she started the website Parallel Entries, which collects diary and journal excerpts written by different people on the same date across the years. She herself has maintained a regular journal practice for the past 18 years. Sarah uses journal therapy with clients as a way to accelerate recovery from trauma, to transcend harmful conditioning, and to deepen self-knowledge and compassion.
Enjoy this one-hour Living Well with Sarah as she shares about her passion for writing and creativity and the many ways it can be a powerful meansĀ for healing and connection.
