Jeff is a Waynesville native who previously worked as a professional actor. He ran his own theater company and wrote more than 25 scripts as a playwright. However, in 2006 he submitted an audition tape for a radio talk show contest held by 880, The Revolution and came in second place. In the beginning of 2013, Jeff took over the prime 3-6pm time slot with the Jeff Messer Show.
Jeff described the show’s mission as follows:
“I want to bring Asheville and all of its wonders into my show, giving you all a platform and a voice for smart, fun, insightful and stimulating conversations about everything Asheville and beyond. No topic is off the table here. No voice is turned away.”
